- Kathleen Kendall-Tackett PhD IBCLC
- Dr. Kendall-Tackett is a health psychologist and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant; a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Amarillo, Texas; a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in both the Divisions of Health and Trauma Psychology, and is Associate Editor of the journal Psychological Trauma. Dr. Kendall-Tackett is author of more than 210 journal articles, book chapters and other publications, as well as author or editor of 19 books in the fields of trauma, women's health, depression, and breastfeeding. She is a founding member of the American Psychological Association's Division of Trauma Psychology. Dr. Kendall-Tackett received a bachelor and master's degree in psychology from California State University, Chico, and a PhD. from Brandeis University in social and developmental psychology. - Gill Rapley MSc RM RHV
- Gill qualified in the UK as a health visitor in 1978, as a voluntary breastfeeding counsellor in 1986 and as a midwife in 1989. Throughout this time, her main interest was in supporting mothers to breastfeed. Gill's fascination with the introduction of babies to solid foods began in her early years as a health visitor. In 2001-2 she undertook research for a master's degree into the way babies are introduced to solid foods and has since spoken on this topic on many occasions. She is credited with coining the term 'baby-led weaning', an approach to the introduction of solid foods which has a rapidly-growing following on the worldwide web. Gill is the co-author, with Tracey Murkett, of the book Baby-led Weaning, published in November 2008. She has also assisted with the production of two DVDs: Baby-led Weaning and Discovering Baby-led Weaning.
Gill lives with her husband in Kent, England. She has three adult children.
- Dr Michael Abou-Dakn MD PhD IBCLC
- Dr Abou-Dakn is Head of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at St Joseph Hospital in Berlin; Chair of the UNICEF/WHO Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in Germany and a member of the German National Breastfeeding Committee. He actively supports family-oriented concepts in obstetrics and his academic interest is in breastfeeding problems.
- Sue Cox AM BM IBCLC FILCA
- Sue has worked with mothers and babies for nearly 35 years as a breastfeeding counsellor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA), as a midwife and a hospital and private practice lactation consultant. Sue is currently a facilitator for BreastEd online courses and combines her private practice lactation consultancy with writing both for new parents and health professionals. Her latest books are Baby Magic and Altering Hospital Breastfeeding Culture: Current Evidence for the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. Sue was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2004 when her work was recognised in the Australia Day Honours list - 'For service to community health, particularly as a lactation consultant, educator and counsellor for the care of breastfeeding mothers and their babies.'

- Nina Berry BA/Bed(Hons1) DipArts(Phil) Cert IV Breastfeeding Education (Counselling & Community) Cert IV TAA
- Nina is a mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend who has just submitted her PhD thesis, 'Got Milk? the influence of toddler milk advertisements on attitudes and beliefs about infant feeding'. She has undergraduate degrees in Arts and Education, postgraduate qualifications in applied philosophy and nationally recognised qualifications in Breastfeeding Education and Training and Assessment. Nina has been a breastfeeding counsellor for the Australian Breastfeeding Association since 2001.
- Dr Lane Strathearn MBBS, FRACP, PhD
- Dr Strathearn is a Developmental Pediatrician at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. His research and clinical work focuses on the neurobiology of mother-infant attachment and neurodevelopmental disabilities such as autism. This includes a longitudinal study of women and their infants, examining maternal brain and hormone responses to infant facial expressions using functional MRI. His work explores the development of attachment behaviour, and how drugs of abuse may highjack these relationships. He is also studying the long-term effects of child maltreatment on cognitive and emotional development and early childhood factors that may help to protect against abuse or neglect. His research draws upon a birth cohort of over 8000 mothers and children who have been followed over 15 years.
- Dr Adriano Cattaneo MD MSc
- Adriano is a Consultant Epidemiologist and the coordinator of the Unit for Health Services Research, Epidemiology and International Health at the Institute for Maternal and Child Health 'IRCCS Burlo Garofolo' in Trieste, Italy. Dr Cattaneo earned a MD degree from the University of Padova and MSc degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Most of the professional career has been in developing countries, including 4 years as medical officer with WHO. He is the author and co-author of more than 150 publications and abstracts in scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, Dr Cattaneo is the project coordinator of EU-funded projects for the development, field testing and revision of the document 'Protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding in Europe: a Blueprint for Action'. He is involved in national and European projects for the prevention of overweight and obesity in preschool and school children. He is a member of the National Breastfeeding Committee in Italy, with the task of developing the national breastfeeding policy and related implementation programs, including a standard monitoring system of breastfeeding rates and practices.
- Dr Brian Vartabedian, MD
- Bryan is a pediatric gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's hospital in Houston. He is a frequent guest expert and spokesperson in the national media, discussing issues related to children's digestive health and nutrition. He is the author of 'Colic solved: The Essential guide to Infant Reflux and the Care of Your Crying, Difficult to Soothe Baby'
